Beim PFotoherbst 2026 – einem Wettbewerb für serielle Reise und Reportagefotografie. Es gibt den Wettbewerb schon seit über 25 Jahren und er wurde bisher unter dem Namen Schömberger Fotoherbst von der Gemeinde Schömberg durchgeführt. Mit den klammen kommunalen Kassen kam auch das Ende dieser langen Tradition.
Dafür das die Geschichte damit noch nicht zu Ende ist, sorgten ein großer Teil des ehrenamtlichen Orga-Teams. Es wurde nach neuen Möglichkeiten gesucht den Wettbewerb auf eine neue breitere und tragfähige Basis zu stellen. Diese Funktion übernimmt der gemeinnützige Pforzheimer Verein KULTURMAT. Zusammen mit Pforzheimer Photographen wollen wir den Wettbewerb auch in Zukunft alle zwei Jahre durchführen.
Mitmachen ist einfach, aber es gibt doch einiges zu beachten. Alles, was dazu benötigt wird, gibt es auf www.pfotoherbst.net/wettbewerb
Das Erste, was man braucht, ist ein gutes Thema aus den Bereichen Reise und/oder Reportage. Dazu muss man nicht in die Ferne schweifen. Auch in unserem Umfeld gibt es Spannendes zu finden und zu photographieren. Dann braucht man 8-10 Bilder, die idealerweise in durchgängiger Bildsprache die Geschichte verdeutlichen. Ein Titel für die Serie ist wichtig, Titel für die einzelnen Bilder gewünscht aber nicht zwingend notwendig. Die Bilder im Format 20×30 bis 30×40 ausdrucken (lassen), betiteln und zusammen mit dem Teilnahmeformular einsenden.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it on social media yet, here’s an invitation to take part in PFotoherbst 2026 – a competition for serial travel and reportage photography. The competition has been running for over 25 years and was previously organised by the municipality of Schömberg under the name Schömberger Fotoherbst . With municipal coffers running low, this long tradition came to an end.
However, thanks to the efforts of a large part of the volunteer organising team, the story does not end there. They sought new ways to put the competition on a new, broader and more sustainable footing. This role is now being taken on by the non-profit Pforzheim-based association KULTURMAT. Together with photographers from Pforzheim, we want to continue running the competition every two years in the future.
Taking part is easy, but there are a few things to bear in mind. Everything you need can be found at www.pfotoherbst.net/wettbewerb.
The first thing you need is a good theme from the fields of travel and/or reportage. You don’t have to travel far to find one. There are exciting things to find and photograph in our own environment. Then you need 8-10 pictures that ideally illustrate the story in a consistent visual language. A title for the series is important, and titles for the individual pictures are desirable but not essential. Print (or have printed) the pictures in 20×30 to 30×40 format, title them and send them in together with the entry form.

In einer Vorjurierung werden die 25 besten Serien ausgesucht und ab 25.09.26 im alten Schlachthof in Pforzheim ausgestellt. Dort werden von unserer fachkundigen Hauptjury die drei Sieger ermittelt und sofern vorhanden entschieden, wer den Nachwuchspreis bekommt. Als Preisgeld winken insgesamt 3300.-€
